France Paris Pyramid at Louvre Museum

The museum of the Louvre is one of the richest museums of the world. It originates in the collections of the Kings, the collections of François 1st and those of Louis XIV. The building is the old royal residence in Paris. Towards 1190, Philippe Auguste made build a feudal castle and an enclosure. This building then was modified and increased with the passing centuries. The last modification goes back to 1988: a monumental entry covered by a pyramid of glass was created in the Napoleon courtyard, a work of the architect Ming Pei.
