Hawaii Haleakala

Haleakala is the place that well known as House of the sun. You might wonder why, just like me. Well,
there is a legend that tells the origin of Haleakala’s spectacular sunrise.The demi-god Maui and his mother, Hina. But the story is too long for me to tell you here. You can hear the whole story when you have a trip there.=)

Rising over 10,000 feet from sea level, Haleakala is renowned for its raw beauty and unique scenery.With the meaning "House of the Sun," Haleakala is a dormant volcano that was designated a national park in 1961. More than 29,000 acres in size, the park is a great place for camping, hiking, stargazing and horseback riding. Haleakala is world-famous for its spectacular sunrises (be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior).

The Park Ranger Headquarters and Haleakala Visitor Center, located in the summit area of the crater, house a variety of cultural and natural history exhibits. The rangers on duty will help you make the most out of your visit. The park’s bulletin board has a schedule of daily programs and activities, including guided hikes.There's so much pleasure for us, so many reasons for us to spent vacation here. Hawaii Ahihi Cove

Although the name of this beach is not so familiar with my tongue, I still like it. Ahihi Cove is the first beach located inside the 'Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve. It is a protected area and it is illegal to spear or capture fish in the place. One thing that unique you find no sand beach here, but the cove is protected from wind and surf and the snorkeling is usually terrific. This area is the site of the last lava flow on Maui in 1790.

Hawaii Big Beach Maui

This is my favorite beach in Hawaii and I am very sure that you will agree with me. Just check out how beautiful and attractive it is. You can see it from the picture also. Makena Beach is affectionately known as "Big Beach" or "THE beach on Maui". It's 2/3 of a mile long. At one end is a hill known as Pu'u Ola'i or Earthquake Hill, which separates it from "Little Beach".Often crowded on weekends, there is a second section of the beach connected by a path on the right. Travelers can have good swimming, snorkeling, body boarding or high surf in here. Get here soon and have your heavenly beach..

Hawaii Alula Beach

Alula Beach is located south of Honokohau Harbor, this small beach is merely a crescent of sand. The area is fairly well protected providing some safe swimming most of the year.Good scuba diving and snorkeling are just offshore where boulders and rock walls dip down to 45-feet. Large collections of colorful fish can be viewed here.Though small in size, the beach is quiet and calm and lined with beautiful palm and coconut trees providing plenty of shade and a picturesque view of the Kona coast and Harbor scene.The usual clientele that spot the beach are families with children on the weekends, dogs and their masters (as it is one of the few places let that dogs are not closely monitored) and individuals on their lunch break or day off enjoying the quiet setting of Alula.

Hawaii Ai'opio Beach

This comfortable sandy beach is located just north of Honokohau Harbor. The water here is protected by offshore reefs, so swimming usually safe even for children.If you like not so crowded beach, then this one will be perfect choice for you as today few people visit this area making it a nice retreat for an afternoon swim and picnic.But I have warn you who can't swim well, there is no lifeguard here.

Hawaii Ahalanui Park

As I ever said before, Hawaii is heaven of beaches, now I continue to talk about another excellent travel place in Hawaii, Ahalanui Park. How to reach there? You can follow the direction to take Highway 130 south from Pahoa. When it dead ends at Highway 137, turn right. The Park is located on the left. Ahalanui Park is shallow, volcano-warmed, spring-fed waters are clear and sprinkled with fish. Don't worry you will get sink if you can't swim coz there’s a lifeguard there. Ahalanui Park's area is surrounded by palm trees, green grass and the Pacific Ocean making it a very beautiful and uncrowded tropical retreat.

Hawaii Wailua Falls

Interested with this beautiful waterfall? I'm sure you'll do..It is located in Lihue, Kauai, Wailua River State Park, Kauai County. Don't miss this place when you travel to Hawaii. Wailua Falls is the must-see waterfall to visit on the garden island of Kauai. Mainly, because it is the most easily accessible waterfall. Wailua Falls is a spectacular 80 ft. high waterfall. In normal flows, it is really quite pretty, dropping in 3 separate segments. In high flows, as shown above, it is a single massive falls. Wailua Falls is the waterfall that used to be shown on the old TV show, Fantasy Island. It is also where in ancient times men used to dive off (over the falls) to prove their worthiness. Let me tell you, I wouldn't be diving off this cliff. But it definitely is a spectacular waterfall. The best time to visit Wailua Falls is very early in the morning before all the crowds come here, as it is a very popular tourist stop. But if you are here alone, before anyone else, then it is much more pleasurable. The falls can dramatically change appearance depending on rain and the river's flow. The best time to view this spectacular site is early morning as the sun shines on the falls. The brave and sure-footed can can take a slippery trail down to the bottom of the falls and take a dip in the cool, mountain water.

Hawaii Kapalua Beach Park Maui

Kapalua Beach is a beautiful golden stretch along the west coast of the Keanae Peninsula, with a spectacular view of Molokai, and one of the prettiest and safest beaches on Maui - once voted the best beach in the world by Condé Nast Magazine. It has an exclusive beach resort called Kapalua Bay. Inside the bay is well-protected from big waves by offshore reefs and by lava peninsulas on the both sides, making this a superb swimming beach for families with small children. It is also a good place to watch whales, during the whale season. If you drive, beware that public parking and beach access is not easy to find, and it's a bit of a walk to the beach. This beach also match for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving lovers. After visit Kapalua Beach Park, Maui, I can guarantee you absolutely will love Hawaii...(the heaven of beaches)..^0^

Hawaii Palauea Beach Maui

If you like more secluded Hawaii beaches, go to Palauea [which means 'lazy'] Beach south of Polo Beach in Wailea. This excellent swimming beach is one of the last undeveloped area on the Wailea-Makena coastline. Ideal for families with young children because it is sheltered from the winds and the water is shallow. So, you don't have to worry when bring along your children.
It is also a great place for scuba diving and snorkeling lover. At the south end of the beach there are underwater rock formations that make interesting diving. There are no facilities, nor lifeguards [the nearest food is at the Kea Lani Beach Hotel]. Do not leave anything in your car, break-ins are problem here!! Watch out and be careful,Dude!! High winter surf and winds may occasionally cause dangerous water conditions.

Hawaii Wailea Beach Maui

Another one more choice of beautiful beaches in Hawaii that you can go, Hawaii Wailea Beach, Maui is one of the better family beaches. Wailea beach is wide, with shade, good snorkeling and swimming. However, parking nearby is difficult to find and offshore currents can be strong in the afternoon because of the Trade Winds. There are occasional jellyfish on the beach or in the water - don't touch the blue bubbles! The Four Seasons Hotel, one of the best beach resorts in Hawaii, is located at this beach, and there is a Shopping Village nearby. Whales sometimes appear in winter months. The beach is safe except during periods of high surf or Kona storms [severe winds from west].

Hawaii Kaanapali Beach Maui

Kaanapali Beach, Maui is famous travel place for swimming, snorkeling, body surfing, surfing, kayaking and scuba diving. Tourists who look for nice water activities can plan their vacation here. Kaanapali beach is located in front of the Kaanapali Resort, extending nearly 3 miles from Kahekili Beach in the north to Hanakaoo Beach [Canoe Beach] in the south. Hawaii Sunset Beach North Shore Oahu

Usually I don't really like the sight of sunset but not with this one; the sunset in Hawaii Sunset Beach, Pipeline, Waimea Bay is absolutely wonderful as you can see in the picture. Oahu's North Shore is the mecca of big wave surfing, and Sunset, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay, and Haleiwa Beach Park are among the world's most famous surfing spots.
Sunset Beach is one of the best sites and is also the home of major professional events such as the World Surfing Cup.
In winter-spring time (from the month of Oct-May), waves at all these beaches can reach up to 15-20 feet [4 until 6m] high, generating dangerous water conditions, so the beach is for expert surfers only, but during the calmer summer months the beaches become excellent swimming places.

Lanikai Beach, along Mokulua Drive, is regarded as Hawaii's best swimming beach by Oahu's residents, and once voted as the America's best beach by famous Dr. Beach. This mile long golden beach is clean, usually surf-free, and pretty with palm trees and offshore islands across the water, just like a postcard. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

If you get bore with beaches in then you can travel to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, on the big island
of Hawaii, is one of the most dynamic places on earth, where volcanic activity forms new land every day, while evolution has created life forms found nowhere else on the planet.One of its volcanoes, Mauna Loa, which was responsible for the emmergence of the island from the ocean floor, is 13700 feet above sea level (the world highest peak on an island) and 42000 below the sea, making its total height the largest of any mountain on earth, while its very gently slopping 10000 cubic miles makes it the most massive mountain.
The other notable volcanoe, Kilauea is one of the world's most active, erupting continuously for thirty years. The Hawaii volcanoes do not have an explosive eruption unlike continental volcanoes, but instead spew a fluid and slow moving flow of molten lava (which make it possible for visitors to get close enough to a live flow to feel their skin burning), and then hardens into fluid fabric shapes which evntually add up layer upon layer to build a bleak black landscape which makes up most of the park.

Hawaii Punaluu Black sand beach

Another great place in Hawaii that we should visit is Hawaii Punaluu Black sand beach. A little bit
information about this place that I can share the beach has black sand created by lava flowing into the ocean which explodes as it reaches the ocean and cools. This volcanic activity is in the Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park.Punaluʻu is frequented by endangered Hawksbill Turtles and Green Sea Turtles, which can often be seen basking on the black sand. Visitors must remain 15 feet from the turtles at all times. The swimming area is very rocky, and it can be dangerous to swim. The beach also has a large amount of underground fresh water that flows in it. This fresh water is very cold and looks almost like gasoline mixing with the water. Legend has it that in the time of drought, the early Hawaiians living in the area would dive underwater with a jug to get their fresh water.So, when you visit this place, prepare your camera to catch the scene...!!

Don't forget to visit historical building in Hawaii coz Hawaii not only has beautiful beach but also has great Iolani Palace in Honolulu, formerly the residence of the Hawaiian monarch, was the capitol of the Republic of Hawaii.The ʻIolani Palace structure that exists today is actually the second ʻIolani Palace to sit on the palace grounds.ʻIolani Palace features architecture seen nowhere else in the world. This unique style is known as American Florentine. On the first floor a grand hall faces a magnificent staircase of koa wood. When we imagine about Hawaii, what appear in our mind is beautiful beach with wonderful sight. Yeah, it's true. We can't deny it. Just have a travel to Kauai's Na Pali coast which is a breathtaking array of cliffs, waterfalls, and steep narrow valleys plunging to the sea. Access to the road less area is by boat or via a rugged hiking trail.The Napali is a 17-mile stretch of coastline on the Garden Isle’s west side.
