Moscow Dormition

When we talk about Moscow, we straightly remember about Russia, the amazing travel place that never make us bore.
Moscow is the barometer and nucleus of the changes sweeping through Russia. The populace now prefer international name brands to monolithic department stores, and the beautiful churches. But the real flavor of this city is in its nooks and crannies, each of them unique.The Cathedral of Dormition is risen at the site of the first stone cathedral built in Moscow by Ivan Kalita in XIVth century. Gigantic building for its time, the cathedral of Dormition was built into 1475-1479 by the Italian architect Aristotle Fioravanti. During four centuries Dormition remained the main cathedral of Russia. It is here that were held crownings of tsars and emperors. The most well-known art in here is the plaza in front of the Cathedral which is the setting for the famous Coronation Scene in Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov. If you ever watch the famous "Get Smart" movie that features Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, and Dwayne Johnson, you will find out many scenes were taken in Moscow.
