Italy Duomo

Another excellent travel spot in Italy is Duomo. Duomo is a generic Italian term for a cathedral church. The Duomo of Pisa, started in 1063 with Buscheto, was finished in XIVth definitely century, had more one century in advance on the one of Florence.. Perhaps the best known Duomo is Milan Cathedral. The cathedral of Milano is often described as one of the greatest churches in the world. The ground plan is of a nave with 5 aisles, crossed by a transept and then followed by choir and apsis. The height of the nave is about 45 meters, the highest Gothic vaults of a complete church.
The roof is open to tourists (for a fee), which allows many a close-up view of some spectacular sculpture that would otherwise be unappreciated. The roof of the cathedral is renowned for the forest of openwork pinnacles and spires, sitting upon delicate flying buttresses.

Italy Tower of Pisa

Since my childhood, I always used to admire this classic building until now, the Tower of Pisa in Italy (La Torre di Pisa)which is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) after the cathedral and the baptistery. Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction.
The tower presently leans to the southwest.I think it would be a great travel place for you and your little children coz besides traveling, children can also learn about the history.

Italy Venice Saint Mark's Basilica

Saint Mark's Basilica (we say it in Italian Basilica di San Marco a Venezia), the cathedral of Venice, is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. It lies on St Mark's Square (in the San Marco sestiere or district) adjacent and connected to the Doge's Palace and located just off the Grand Canal, from the 11th century on the building was known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold).
As you can see, Its shadowy, mysterious interior and golden mosaics, colored marbles, glitter emeralds, and pearls making St. Mark's one of Europe's most glorious and exotic cathedrals you have ever seen. The building is laid out like a Greek cross, with five bulging domes and five arched entrances. It’s most famous treasure stands behind the altar in the sanctuary -- the Pala d'Oro, a golden altar screen encrusted with jewels. Inside, the first thing you will notice are the gilded mosaics that cover the walls and ceilings which is an area of around 8,000 square meters. The next others things you can see here are a red medallion in the floor of the porch inside the main door, a baldacchino on columns decorated with 11th-century reliefs over the high altar , The choir stalls, The Tesoro (Treasury) to the far right of the main altar, and The Horses of Saint Mark. You will surely amazed by all that Saint Mark's Basilica have. It’s so fascinating, so glamorous.

Italy Venice Bridge of Sighs

The Bridge of Sighs (in Italian is called Ponte dei Sospiri) is one of many bridges that you can find in Venice. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the old prisons to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was built between 1600 and 1603.Hmn..Much older than me.
A local legend says that lovers will be assured eternal love if they kiss on a gondola at sunset under the bridge. This legend played a key part in the 1979 film A Little Romance. What makes it was given a name of Sighs? It comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice out the window before being taken down to their cells. However, the popularity of this bridge has been proven in art world by many artists’ song and album.

Italy Venice Rialto Bridge

The Piazza di San Marco may be more famous, but the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) is the true heart of Venice.
The Rialto Bridge (Italian: Ponte di Rialto) is one of the three bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. It is the oldest bridge across the canal and probably the most famous in the city. The bridge has three walkways: two along the outer balustrades, and a wider central walkway leading between two rows of small shops that sell jewelry, linens, Murano glass, and other items for the tourist trade.

Italy Venice Doge's Palace(Palazzo Ducale)

The Doge's Palace is a gothic palace in Venice, Italy. In Italian it is called the Palazzo Ducale di Venezia. The Doge’s Palace is a combination White House, Senate, Supreme Court, torture chamber and prison. If you have time, try to visit this place. It is very antique. I heard that the current palace was largely constructed from
1309 to 1424 but the palace was badly damaged by fire in 1574. In the subsequent rebuilding work it was decided to respect the original gothic style. However, there are some classical features, for example since the sixteenth century the palace has been linked to the prison by the Bridge of Sighs.

Italy Venice

I have one word to describe Venice “Romantic”.Yes, since childhood, I have loved the view of Venice. The uniquely romantic city of Venice was built entirely on water and has managed to survive into the 21st century without cars. Can you imagine that? Narrow alleyways and canals pass between sumptuous palaces and magnificent churches, colorful
neighborhoods markets and quiet backwaters, unchanged for centuries. But those are the enchanting attractions for tourists worldwide. The official language of Venice is Italian. Classical musicians perform outdoors, providing an enchanting background for the numerous pedestrians making Venice is definitely like no other city on earth.
What could be more romantic than winding your way down the Grand Canal in this ancient mode of transportation at twilight with the one you love? Well, you can plan your honey moon travel here.
In addition to Venice's beautiful churches, museums boasting elaborate collections, and gondola rides, the city is known for other various points of interest. Venice is not only built over water, but celebrates on water too, holding more than one hundred regattas every year. The Biennale, one of the world's top festivals of modern art is held every second June, and a film festival in August. Venetian history, architectural wonders abound, quaint cafes line the walkways and shopping opportunities are endless. The main shopping area runs from Piazza San Marco to the Rialto area along the Mercerie and nearby Calle dei Fabbri. Grander, more upscale shops line the area from the Piazza to the Accademia Bridge. The best place to shop for souvenirs and gifts is just north of Campo Santa Stefano. You will find a lot of shopping on just about any major walk street on the island.
Venice is a shopper’s paradise. Everything from high fashion designs such as, Armani, Gucci, Prada and Versace to antiques, Murano glassware, Venetian masks, leather goods, traditional Venetian slippers and jewelry can be found in the streets of Venice. There is too much to see and do here that one day trip won’t nearly long enough. You have to watch out your budget; however, for all its beauty and charm, Venice can be very expensive.
